The first real recording session of us starting to work on the record. Just Tim and I met up at Ballistico and played this one, a live take of him on bass and me on drums. I really don't play drums. This is the only time I've ever been recorded behind a drum kit. I actually pulled it off somehow. This was an exciting start to recording because we totally reimagined the original mood of the song and played instruments we weren't used to. Funny enough, Tim's count-in at the top of this track ended up on the finished record. There's a few little artifacts like that which remained from demo versions.
Krill is incredibly inventive musically, weirdly honest and emotional lyrically, and just addictive as hell while being super strange. I love it. Melodies and phrases that haunt you like photographs. Ezra Furman
Just great, great songs, no bullshit, super-emotional and yet totally casual, super-geeky and yet somehow super-cool. The kind of band you decide you want to join 30 seconds into the first song. Ezra Furman
